Agung Pramana<\/strong>
<\/strong>Born in 1998, lives and works in Ubud, Indonesia<\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

Born in Bali, Agung Pramana builds his approach around post-colonial issues related to both History and its consequences in his social environment. Associated with DEFTO printmaking studio, he uses his technical expertise\n to capture the full complexity of image\u2019s contemporary status.<\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n

His works address the issues of historical perspective, the relationship with others and different cultures, tourism, and the consequences of colonization on art and society. Overcoming these divides, he blends tradition\n and modernity in a personal vision, combining Pop aesthetics with iconic displaced objects from Balinese heritage. Through a play on distortion and relocation of forms, paired with the use of bold colours, he has created\n an immediately recognizable style.<\/p>\n

His latest series explores the historical movements of cultural property during the colonial period, through Balinese objects in the collections of the British Museum.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
